New Range Rover GT Prototype Revealed: All-Electric Luxury SUV

Range Rover has shown the new Range Rover GT prototype. It will become the fifth model in the Range Rover family. The new model brings a fresh design and an all-electric powertrain to the brand.

The Range Rover GT was shown on July 22, 2026. The model is still being tested on roads. Range Rover plans to share more details about the production model later this year.

New Design for the Range Rover GT

The Range Rover GT looks different from the larger Range Rover models. It has a lower body, a sloping roof, and a smooth side profile. The design gives the GT a coupe-like look. However, Range Rover calls it a grand tourer. The focus is on comfortable long-distance travel, while still keeping the features expected from a Range Rover.

The front has slim lights and a clean design. The prototype is also covered in special camouflage. Range Rover says the pattern is inspired by the land around Gaydon in the UK. More design details may change before the final production model is revealed.

The GT Will Be Fully Electric

The new Range Rover GT will first be sold as a battery electric vehicle (BEV). It will also be the first all-electric Range Rover to use JLR’s new Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform. This platform is being used for the company’s next generation of electric vehicles. Range Rover has also said that a full hybrid version could be added later. The first GT, however, will be fully electric.

Simple and Modern Interior

Range Rover has also shown part of the GT’s interior. The cabin has a simple and clean design. There is a large screen in the centre of the dashboard, along with a separate display for the driver.

A long air vent is hidden across the dashboard. The dashboard also uses woven material. The speakers are built into this area. Range Rover says the cabin has been designed to reduce distractions. The aim is to make the interior quiet and comfortable, especially during long trips.

Range Rover GT Specifications

Range Rover has not shared all the technical details yet. The company has not confirmed the battery size, power output, driving range, or charging time. Details about acceleration and top speed are also not available yet.

The price has not been announced either. Range Rover has also not confirmed an India launch date. This means any figures shared online should be treated as estimates unless they come directly from Range Rover.

When Will the Range Rover GT Launch?

The Range Rover GT is still in the testing stage. Prototype vehicles are going through final road tests in different parts of the world. Range Rover has said that more information about the GT will be shared later in 2026. The company has not yet given a final launch date.

Production of the Range Rover GT is planned at JLR’s Halewood plant in the UK. The plant also makes vehicles with other types of powertrains. The Range Rover GT will add a new electric model to the brand’s lineup. Its coupe-like design and electric powertrain make it different from the current Range Rover models.

More details about its range, performance, price, and launch will be known when Range Rover makes its next announcement.
