Audi, Volvo, Lexus and JLR Service Packages in India: Yearly Cost and What You Actually Get

A prepaid service package from Audi, Volvo, Lexus or Jaguar Land Rover can save you money, but none of these four brands publishes its current package prices online. The most recent public figures work out to about Rs 25,000 a year for Volvo’s three-year package (2021-22 price, plus taxes, wear parts included) and roughly Rs 45,000 to Rs 87,000 a year for Audi’s five-year plan, depending on the model (2018 price, before GST). Lexus and JLR have never announced a rupee figure. So the useful question is not “which brand is cheapest” but “what does my dealer’s quote cover, and is it worth more than paying per service?” This guide gives you the numbers that exist, the coverage of each plan, and a simple way to check any quote.

Read this table with care. The Audi prices are eight years old and the Volvo prices four to five years old, and both were limited-period launch offers. They show you the rough scale of what these brands charge, not what a dealer will quote you this week. Use them as a benchmark when you negotiate, not as a price list.

Here is the full Audi list from 2018, because it shows how much the model matters within one brand:

Audi service plan: long term, buy it early

Audi India sells its service plans only through authorised dealers, and only at the time you buy a new car or within six months or 10,000km of delivery, according to Audi India’s service plan page. After that window closes, you cannot buy one. The plan stays with the car if you sell it, but it cannot be cancelled or refunded.

What Audi’s page describes is prepaid scheduled maintenance with genuine parts, which locks in today’s parts and labour prices. It does not say whether wear items like brake pads and wiper blades are included, so ask the dealer for the itemised list. That one detail can change the value of the plan more than the headline price does.

Audi’s warranty strategy sits alongside this. Since August 2025, Audi India has offered extended warranty that can take a car up to 10 years old and 2,00,000km, bought in one- or two-year steps, plus a roadside assistance programme that runs up to 15 years and costs Rs 3,999 to Rs 8,000 depending on the term and the car’s age. A service plan covers what is supposed to wear out. The warranty covers what is not. If you plan to keep an Audi past five years, you want both.

Volvo service package: the best published value

Volvo is the only brand here that has published both a price and wear-and-tear cover for its package. When it launched the S90 and XC60 mild hybrids in October 2021, and again for the whole petrol mild-hybrid range in September 2022, Volvo Car India offered a three-year Volvo Service Package for Rs 75,000 plus taxes, covering regular maintenance and wear-and-tear costs. At roughly Rs 25,000 a year, that is the lowest yearly figure we found from any of these four brands.

Volvo’s 2026 festive offers on the XC60 and XC90 include a five-year service package and a five-year warranty, Autocar Professional reported in September 2026, though no price was given for the package. Volvo has also offered a lifetime warranty on Volvo genuine replacement parts since October 2021, evo India reported. That is not the same as a car warranty, but it does mean a part replaced at a Volvo workshop carries its own cover.

Our view: if a Volvo dealer offers you a package anywhere near that Rs 75,000 three-year figure and it still includes wear parts, take it. Ask whether the festive five-year package on your car is included in the price or charged separately.

Lexus Luxury Care: three tiers, no published price

Lexus India sells Luxury Care in three tiers and three terms, according to its Lexus Promise page:

  • Comfort: all periodic maintenance services listed in the owner’s manual, with savings on parts and labour.
  • Relax: everything in Comfort, plus key general repair parts, interior detailing at each service and a ceramic coating within the first 12 months.
  • Premier: everything in Relax, plus tyres and the auxiliary (12-volt) battery.

Each can be bought for 3 years/60,000km, 5 years/1,00,000km or 8 years/1,60,000km. You can cancel within 15 days if no service has been used. Lexus does not publish prices and asks buyers to contact a dealer.

The useful real-world reference comes from a Team-BHP contributor who has run a Lexus ES 300h for about eight years and 85,000km. In December 2024, he put his total running cost at about Rs 79,600 a year. That figure covers servicing, tyres, two battery replacements, cosmetic work and dent repairs, so routine servicing is only part of it. Use it as a reality check when you weigh a Premier quote: Premier is the only plan in this comparison that includes tyres and the auxiliary battery, though it will not pay for dents or cosmetic work.

Lexus also has the strongest warranty here: 8 years or 1,60,000km on new cars sold from 1 June 2024, per Lexus India’s announcement. With that cover in place, the Comfort tier is enough for most owners. Pay for Premier only if you drive a lot and want tyres taken care of.

JLR 5-Year Service Plan: good coverage, no price on record

JLR India launched its 5-Year Service Plan across Jaguar, Range Rover, Defender and Discovery in June 2024. According to Autocar Professional and autoX, it includes five preventive maintenance services and wear-and-tear parts, with brake discs, brake pad sensors and wiper blades named alongside oil, air filters and particle filters. It protects owners from increases in labour and parts prices during the plan, and Land Rover India says it can be transferred to the next owner.

Eligibility is narrow. New buyers qualify, and so do owners who bought in the past year but have not yet had the first periodic service. JLR did not disclose a price at launch, and Land Rover India’s website asks buyers to call a retailer.

For scale, Team-BHP members discussing a used Range Rover in 2021 estimated that routine dealer servicing alone (oil, filters, brakes) could average up to about Rs 1 lakh a year, before tyres or repairs. Those are owner estimates, not official rates, but they explain why a fixed-price plan makes sense on a Land Rover. Land Rover’s standard warranty in India is 3 years or 1,00,000km, so pairing the service plan with an extended warranty is the sensible combination. Our guide to air suspension problems on Range Rover, Audi and Mercedes shows the kind of out-of-warranty bill a service plan will not cover.

Is a service package worth it? How to check any quote

A package is worth buying when it costs less than paying for the same services one at a time, and when you will actually keep the car for the full term. Here is how to check:

  1. Ask for the service schedule. How many paid services fall within the term at your expected mileage? JLR’s plan, for example, includes five services over five years.
  2. Ask for the à la carte price of each service. Add them up. Owner reports give a sense of scale: a Team-BHP member paid about Rs 26,000 for an Audi Q5’s first service in 2025.
  3. Get the inclusion list in writing. Brake pads, discs, wiper blades, batteries and tyres are where packages differ most. Volvo’s published package and JLR’s plan include wear parts. Audi’s page does not say. Only Lexus Premier includes tyres.
  4. Check the purchase window. Audi’s closes at six months or 10,000km. JLR’s closes at the first service.
  5. Check transferability. Audi and JLR say their plans move with the car, which adds resale value. Ask Volvo and Lexus dealers to confirm in writing.
  6. Factor in GST. The older published prices were quoted before tax.

If the package costs less than the à la carte total, buy it. If it costs up to about 10% more, it can still be worth it: you lock in prices, you are protected against parts inflation, and a full dealer service record helps resale. Beyond that, skip it. Buying used? Ask about the remaining plan

For pre-owned buyers, a transferable service plan with time left on it is real money. A three-year-old Audi or Range Rover with two years of prepaid servicing remaining is worth more than the same car without, and the seller should be able to show the plan document and the dealer’s record of services used. If you are comparing cars listed on Motozite, ask each seller for this before you compare prices. Our pre-owned Audi buying guide and pre-owned Lexus ES, NX and RX guide cover the other checks for those brands.

FAQ

How much does an Audi service package cost per year in India?

Audi India does not publish current prices. Its last public price list, from February 2018, put the five-year, 1,00,000km package at Rs 2.25 lakh for the Q3 and A3 (about Rs 45,000 a year) up to Rs 4.34 lakh for the A8 (about Rs 87,000 a year), before GST. Current prices are higher; ask your dealer for a written quote.

Does Volvo’s service package cover wear and tear?

Volvo’s published three-year Volvo Service Package, offered at Rs 75,000 plus taxes in 2021 and 2022, covered regular maintenance and wear-and-tear costs. Check whether the package offered on your car today has the same inclusions, as terms change with each offer.

What does Lexus Luxury Care Premier include?

Premier includes all periodic maintenance, key general repair parts, interior detailing at each service, a ceramic coating in the first year, and replacement tyres and auxiliary battery within the plan’s limits. It is available for 3, 5 or 8 years. Lexus India does not publish prices.

What is covered in the JLR 5-Year Service Plan?

JLR India’s plan covers five preventive maintenance services and wear-and-tear parts such as brake discs, brake pad sensors and wiper blades, along with oil and filters. It locks in labour and parts prices and can be transferred to the next owner. New buyers, and owners within a year of purchase who have not had their first service, can buy it.

Can I buy an Audi service plan after delivery?

Only within six months or 10,000km of delivery, according to Audi India. After that, Audi’s service plans are no longer available for that car. The plan cannot be cancelled or refunded, but it transfers to the next owner if you sell.

Is a prepaid service package worth it for a luxury car?

Usually yes, if you will keep the car for the full term and the package costs no more, or only slightly more, than paying for each service separately. It locks in today’s labour and parts prices and builds a full authorised service history, which helps resale. Always compare the package price with the dealer’s itemised à la carte quotes first.
